First Annual Timberline Junior Classic is Underway

The Southeastern Junior Golf Tour is playing in Calera, Alabama this week at the Timberline Golf Club. Timberline is playing host to over 70 players this Monday and Tuesday. Round one got off to a great start today as we find many players under par or better. Conditions were great for round one and temperatures reached the low 90's.

In the Female 12-19 division we find two players sitting tied for first. Both players shot a 4 over par 75 in round one. Those players are Anna Claire Little from Auburn, Alabama and Catherine Stoerker from Cumming, Georgia. Sitting at a lone third in the division is Lexie Dawson from Woodstock, Georgia with a 5 over par 76. Sophie Burks from Equality, Alabama is in fourth as she tries to make up some ground with a round one score of 77.

In the Male 12-13 division, Coe Murdock from nearby Mountain Brook, Alabama is the leader with a 5 over par 76. Thomas Fischer from Birmingham, Alabama looks to improve in round two as he shoots a 78. William Stelt sits at third with an 85.

The Male 14-15 division is where we find our co-leader in Nicholas Dunlap from Birmingham, Alabama as he fires an impressive 6 under par, 65. Mac Scott only trails by one in the division as he goes low with a 5 under par 66. Two players sit tied for third with an even par finish, 71, those players are Sam Maze from Birmingham, Alabama and Jones Free from Marion Junction, Alabama.

The Male 16-19 division claims the other co-leader in Carter Goodwin as he also shoots a 6 under par 65. Ike Alexander from Florence, Alabama shot a 2 under par, 69 to find himself in a lone second. Sitting at third place is Dylan Sampsell from Chelsea, Alabama with a one under par 70 in round one.
