Round One of the Wynlakes Junior Classic Complete

The SJGT is back in Montgomery, Alabama again but this time at the Wynlakes Golf and Country Club. Wynlakes is an annual stop on the tour and we are excited to have it again on the schedule this year. The course is in fantastic shape and is such a fun layout for juniors and all golfers to enjoy. Sunny skies made their presence today as rain has been surrounding the area for most of last week.

In the Female 12-19 division we find Brooke Sansom from nearby Pike Road, Alabama tear up the first round. Sansom finished at an eye opening, 64 (8 Under) with a total of 9 birdies. Sansom holds a 10 shot lead over her next competitor. Second place belongs to Mychael O'Berry from Hoover, Alabama who fires a 2 over par 74. Two players sit tied for third. Those players are Ainsley Cowart (Winston, GA) and Haili Moore (Prosper, TX) with a pair of 75's.

Thomas Fischer from Birmingham, Alabama leads the Male 12-13 race with an even par finish, 72. Second place in the division belongs to Mason Crowder from Dothan, Alabama with a 3 over par 75. Coming in third is Alex Roberts, also from Birmingham, Alabama with a 79.

The Male 14-15 division is a tight one as two names sit tied at the top of the leader board. Sam Maze from Birmingham, Alabama and Jones Free from Marion Junction, Alabama both shoot a one under par 71. Free is looking to regain his title as he won this tournament last year in the Male 12-13 division. Ryan Eshleman from Vestavia Hills, Alabama sits closely behind the two as he shoots a 2 over par 74.

The Male 16-19 division is up for anyone to grab the top spot in tomorrow's round. Leading the pack with a one over par, 73 is Trevor Poole from Smith, Alabama. Michael Thomas from Auburn, Alabama, Bryson O'Malley from Mathews, Alabama, and Matthew Smith from Athens, Alabama all fire a 2 over par 74 to sit tied for second.
